MICHEAL FLAHERTY is president of Walden Media, a company he co-founded in 1999. A graduate of Tufts University, he serves on a number of boards including the Salvation Army National Advisory Board, the Deseret News Editorial Advisory Board, Rachel’s Challenge, and Vision 360. He has been published in a number of newspapers and magazines and writes regularly for the Wall Street Journal. Since its founding, Walden has produced over 30 films, published a number of award-winning books, and developed standards-based curriculum for dozens of subjects.

They discussed the new film, The Giver, which is being co-produced by Walden Media and is scheduled for release this week. The film is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name by Lois Lowry.
